Through a career that spans three decades, Jess Julin Ibsen has demonstrated impressive results in a number of leading positions at Danish and international companies. As of September 1st, he will take over as new CEO of the IT company Unit IT – a company in the USTC Group owned by the Østergaard family.
Over the past 30 years, Jess Julin Ibsen has experienced several Danish and international groups from the inside, heading strategic projects and M&A activities.
Jess Julin Ibsen succeeds Mark Frihagen who, after five years as CEO of Unit IT, is switching industries to the agency world, where he will join as partner and CEO of the B2B brand agency Pravda in Aarhus.
Jess Julin Ibsen’s appointment as CEO comes at a time when Unit IT stands strong. In recent years, the company has been on an explosive growth journey with several acquisitions and is now ready to continue their growth strategy through new acquisitions.
"With Jess Julin Ibsen, we are welcoming a strong CEO who possesses in-depth knowledge of the IT industry and especially the segment that Unit IT works with. This puts Unit IT in a unique position to continue to develop their market potential. Jess has also demonstrated solid business results through his extensive experience with leadership, strategy, and development – both at home and abroad,” says Nina Østergaard Borris, CEO and owner of USTC and chairman of the board of Unit IT.
Jess Julin Ibsen is an experienced manager, and his diverse career primarily spans across the IT industry. He has held leading positions in several companies, including Itadel, NNIT, TDC, and CSC. As CEO of Itadel, Jess Julin Ibsen completed a successful turnaround and won prominent clients before the company was sold to IT Relation A/S. Today, he is a board member of Norlys Fibernet A/S, Norlys Fiber Infrastruktur A/S, and FastPass Corp.
Under Mark Frihagen's management, Unit IT has completed several successful acquisitions - most recently of solvo it in Ballerup. In addition, Unit IT was named Denmark's Most Recommended Company in 2020, and last year they won the Partner to Watch award for IT security.
Nina Østergaard Borris says: "It has been an exquisite pleasure to work with Mark who, in addition to being a skilled IT strategist, also has a big corporate heart, which beats for a strong culture. He has left a clear mark on Unit IT and has contributed greatly to our low employee churn, which is significantly lower than other companies’ in the industry."
Both Mark Frihagen and Jess Julin Ibsen will assume their new positions on September 1st.
