Then this role offers a unique opportunity to make a tangible impact across the USTC Group.

Sustain your career at USTC and leverage your expertise

We are looking for a Compensation and Benefits Lead to take end-to-end ownership of compensation and benefits across a diverse, international group. United Shipping & Trading Company (USTC) is continuously evolving and today operates across multiple industries and geographies, with varying levels of maturity within compensation and benefits.

Based at our headquarters in Middelfart, you will join a team of 23 experienced HR professionals and become a key member of our HR Center of Excellence. You will work closely with HR Business Partners and senior stakeholders across the businesses, balancing group-wide governance with local business realities.

A strategic and hands-on colleague with flair for numbers
As our Compensation and Benefits Lead, you will ensure competitive, fair, and efficient reward structures and deliver excellence within the area. In this role, you will have reference to our Head of Legal Services and join our ambitious HR department.

You will also combine operational excellence with strategic influence and represent HR in senior forums, leading and executing annual compensation and benefits processes, including salary reviews, incentive plans, and benefits governance. Furthermore, you will get to use your knowledge and experience applying your analytical mindset and flair for numbers supporting the development of rewards initiatives across the organization.

Your primary responsibilities:

  • Developing and maintaining salary structures, job architecture, job mapping, and frameworks supporting pay transparency.
  • Providing robust benchmarking and market data at role and organizational level to support informed decision-making.
  • Formalize individual bonus agreements in accordance with the different organizations’ policies
  • Preparing high-quality analyses, dashboards, and management reporting to support both operational and strategic discussions.
  • Advising and partnering closely with HR Business Partners and management across the Group, supporting businesses with different organizational contexts, systems, and maturity levels.
  • Navigating and managing complexity across a diversified group with multiple business models and international footprints.
  • Monitoring external trends and best practices within Compensation & Benefits and translating them into pragmatic, value-adding solutions for the organization.

Competent, credible, and comfortable with complexity
You are experienced within compensation and benefits and are familiar with diverse types of incentives and benefits schemes. You see yourself thriving, working closely with stakeholders, and establishing relations within the organization and in a global context. You have an eye for detail, a proactive approach, and an ability to challenge the status quo.

Moreover, you have:

  • Minimum 5+ years of experience within Compensation & Benefits, preferably from a complex or international organization.
  • Proven experience working with compensation structures, job architecture, job leveling, and pay transparency initiatives.
  • Well-founded operational capabilities combined with the ability to contribute at a strategic and governance level.
  • Experience collaborating closely with HR Business Partners and senior stakeholders.
  • Familiarity with market benchmarking methodologies (e.g. Mercer IPE or similar frameworks).
  • Solid analytical and financial understanding, with advanced Excel and PowerPoint skills.
  • Excellent English skills, both written and spoken; Danish is a strong advantage.

This role may be a strong match if you are currently in a leading position within Compensation & Benefits and are looking to apply your expertise in a broad, influential group context.
