Experienced Accountant for Bunker Holding - Houston US

We are seeking a detail-oriented and analytical Accountant to join our Bunker Holding Americas team in Houston, Texas. In this role, you will support the financial operations of our United States business, ensuring accuracy, compliance, and alignment across accounting systems while contributing to informed business decision-making in a dynamic international environment.

The Team

You will join an experienced finance team of 6 colleagues based at our Houston, Texas office, where collaboration and a collaborative team spirit are at the core of daily work. You will report directly to the Finance Manager of Bunker Holding Americas and interact daily with your on-site finance colleagues. As part of the broader Bunker Holding Americas setup, your team contributes directly to the financial integrity and effective execution of the group’s activities across the Americas region.

Accounting Role at the Heart of the Americas Operations

As an Accountant for Bunker Holdings US business, you will support the business in making well-informed financial decisions by collecting, tracking, and correcting financial data on an ongoing basis. Your day-to-day responsibilities will span a broad range of accounting tasks — from bank reconciliations and invoicing to currency management and tax.

More specifically, your responsibilities include:

• Bank reconciliation and system reconciliations, ensuring financial records are accurate and aligned.
• Payment processing and cashflow tracking.
• Maintain and reconcile general ledger accounts
• Responsible for our travel expense system

A Structured Finance Professional with a Solution-Oriented Mindset

You navigate complex cross-border financial tasks with confidence and communicate clearly with stakeholders at all levels. Additionally, you have the following qualifications:

• Minimum of 8–10 years of professional accounting experience
• Demonstrated experience in the oil and gas industry (required)
• Proven experience working with Canadian accounting standards and tax regulations (required), including familiarity with Canadian GAAP / IFRS and GST/HST filings
• Advanced experience with Microsoft Dynamics Business Central and Microsoft Dynamics NAV, including experience as a superuser
• Strong understanding of U.S. GAAP and multi-jurisdictional accounting frameworks
• Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel
• Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills
• Fluency in English (written and spoken)
