Iceland Operations Team Lead – Copenhagen

SDK Cruise is seeking an Iceland Operations Team Lead for our Copenhagen office. Take ownership of Iceland operations, lead a skilled team, and ensure flawless port agency services for international cruise clients

SDK Cruise provides port agency services to visiting international cruise ships. The business environment for a cruise agent is very much hands-on, and it involves daily contact with clients, staff onboard the ships, local suppliers, local and national authorities, and many other business partners.

Team description
You will report to the Operations Director and lead a small, dedicated team - based in Copenhagen and Iceland. Together, you manage all Iceland desk operations, including voyage coordination, port agency services, client relationships, and commercial execution for North Atlantic trade. Your team serves as the main contact for charterers, shipowners, ports, and agents, ensuring smooth operations across time zones. As Team Lead, you will coach your team, manage daily operations and KPIs, handle escalations, and ensure continuous improvement in service quality and efficiency. The Iceland Department is central to SDK’s operations, maintaining a strong position in a key trade corridor.

Hands-on leader of Iceland operations
As Team Lead, you take full ownership of Iceland operations - from cruise calls to port agency services. This is a hands-on role balancing strategic oversight with daily execution. You will ensure smooth port calls, client satisfaction, and efficient workflows, working closely with clients, authorities, and partners. Responsibilities include duty planning, invoicing, cost control, and maintaining high-quality service throughout the year.

During the peak cruise season (March–September), flexibility and commitment are essential.

Your Responsibilities

  • Ensure execution and client satisfaction for all Iceland-related port agency operations.
  • Manage invoicing, cost booking, budgeting, and KPI reporting.
  • Lead, coach, and support your team, optimizing schedules and solving operational challenges.

Profile
You are a results-driven leader with experience in shipping, forwarding, or maritime logistics, ideally with cross-border team management. You communicate clearly across cultures, stay structured, and thrive in dynamic maritime environments.

Qualifications

  • Background in shipping, freight forwarding, or port operations.
  • Experience leading teams and coordinating remote suppliers or partners.
  • Fluent in English, both written and spoken
  • Effective communication and stakeholder management skills.
  • Cruise industry or Iceland trade experience is a plus.
